180° vs. 190° thermostat—what should I choose?

For mostly stock/tow rigs, the 190° Mopar thermostat keeps temps near factory targets. If you prefer a slightly cooler opening point, choose the Cummins 180° with the correct seal.

When should I replace the water pump?

Any coolant leak from the weep hole, bearing noise, or persistent overheat warrants a new pump. Choose Cummins 5473238 or our CPP 2013–2018 pump.

Do I need to upgrade the tank/cap?

Cracked or discolored plastic tanks should be replaced. Our CPP reservoir and Mopar cap restore pressure holding. For a premium aluminum tank, see Fleece or Wehrli.

Which fan drive parts commonly fail?

On higher-mileage trucks: the fan clutch, blade, and shroud are common replacements; inspect the pulley bracket if there’s wobble.
