    • Prioritize a turbo blanket and the first 2–3 feet of downpipe wrap to cut radiant heat fast.
    • Use the clamp-on shield where the exhaust passes close to the cab/firewall.
    • Add gold barrier on panels near the intake/airbox to keep charge air cooler.

    Yes. Blanketing the turbine housing retains heat energy where it does work and reduces radiant heat to surrounding parts, which can improve spool and component life. See CPP T-3 and BD T6.

    What wrap width should I use on the downpipe?

    1" is ideal for tight bends and small sections; 2" covers downpipes and straighter runs faster. Examples: PPE 1" x 50', PPE 2" x 15', or Thermo-Tec 2" x 100'.

    Where should I use adhesive gold barrier or tape?

    On clean, flat panels (firewall, trans tunnel, airbox, intake tube) or to shield hoses/wires. Try Thermo-Tec 13775 and 13995 Tape.

    Are clamp-on shields universal for 4" pipes?

    Yes—flexible shields like Thermo-Tec 11624 can be trimmed/positioned to suit most 4" downpipes.

    Do wraps need stainless ties?

    Use stainless snap straps or clamps at the start and end of each section for a secure install.
