Frequently Asked Questions
Will this intake fit my 2005 F-250 6.0L Powerstroke?Yes. This kit fits 2003–2007 Ford Super Duty trucks equipped with the 6.0L Powerstroke and a factory-style turbocharger. It will not fit 6.4L or 6.7L Powerstroke engines, and it is not designed for non-stock turbo setups without additional custom work.
Do I need custom tuning after installing the WCF100333 intake?
Custom tuning is not strictly required just to run this intake, but it is recommended for customers chasing maximum performance. A tune can help the ECM fully take advantage of the increased airflow and optimize fueling, drivability, and overall power gains. Always monitor EGT, boost, and other critical parameters when modifying your 6.0L.
Does this kit replace the factory airbox?
Yes. The WCFab 4" intake kit replaces the factory airbox and intake tract with an open-element dry filter, 4" intake tube, and pre-filter cover. It retains critical sensor locations and is designed to work with the stock-style turbo inlet while freeing up airflow and cleaning up the engine bay.
Is a PCV / crankcase ventilation reroute really required?
Yes, a PCV reroute is required with this style of open-element intake. The factory system vents crankcase vapors into the intake stream, which can saturate the filter and coat the intake tube with oil residue. Rerouting the PCV helps keep the filter clean and ensures consistent performance. Use your preferred 6.0L-specific reroute solution and follow all local emissions regulations.
Is the WCF100333 intake kit legal for on-road use in California?
No. This product is not CARB approved and is labeled for off-road or competition use in emissions-controlled areas. It cannot be shipped to California for on-road vehicles. Always check your local and state regulations before installing emissions-related components.
How much louder is this intake compared to stock?
Expect a noticeable increase in turbo whistle and induction sound, especially under acceleration and load. At light throttle cruising the sound increase is modest, but under boost the turbo will be more audible than with the stock airbox.
