This is a CPP-assembled kit that includes 26 brand-new Interstate-McBee head bolts for the 1989–1998 5.9L Cummins 12-valve (6BT). Built to OE-style dimensions for reliable clamping and long service life, this aftermarket solution restores factory-spec sealing without the cost of studs.

  • Complete set (26 bolts): Everything needed for one cylinder head on 12V 5.9L Cummins.
  • OE-style fit & function: Interstate-McBee fasteners match OEM form for proper preload when torqued to spec.
  • CPP kit convenience: We gather the correct quantities so you don’t have to source individual pieces.
  • Aftermarket value: Dependable replacement hardware at a budget-friendly price.

FAQ

Does this kit include all 26 bolts?
Yes. The HEADSET12V kit provides the full set of 26 Interstate-McBee head bolts for one 12V cylinder head.
Are washers included?
No. Washers are not included unless explicitly stated. Add new OE washers if your build requires them.
Will these bolts fit a 24-valve (1998.5+) engine?
No. This kit is for 1989–1998 12-valve engines. 24-valve ISB applications use different hardware.
Should I choose bolts or upgrade to studs?
For stock to mild builds, OE-style bolts are typically sufficient. For high boost/HP, consider ARP studs for higher clamping capacity.
What torque specs should I use?
Always follow the Cummins factory service manual for your ESN, including sequence, stages, lubrication, and any angle steps.

    Head bolts

I am very satisfied with cpp. There was a little delay just because of what’s going on in the economy. But I emailed cpp and the owner himself got on the phone with me , explained everything and was very professional about it. I’ll be sopping with them in the future.
