Helpful Notes
- Have a machine shop verify piston-to-wall clearance and set ring end-gaps for your power level and fuel type.
- For very high-lift cams, a fly-cut version (with ~.100" valve reliefs) may be preferable; verify cam/clearances.
FAQ
What does “Coated & Chamfered” mean? These pistons have .010" removed from the crown and a bowl chamfer to reduce hot-spots, plus a thermal crown coating and a skirt coating for durability under heat and load.
Are these a direct replacement?Yes—this is a complete drop-in kit for 2003–2004 5.9L common-rail engines. Always measure and hone/finish cylinders to spec for the chosen bore size.
What bore sizes are available?Standard, .020, and .040 over are available. Choose the size that matches your machining plan.
What supporting mods do you recommend?Head studs, fresh MLS head gasket set, clean injector spray patterns, and adequate fuel/air supply. Tune conservatively during break-in.
