FAQs
Will this work on my 1998.5–2002 24-valve (VP44) truck? No. This kit is for 1994–1998 12-valve Cummins with the Bosch P7100 pump only.
Do I need other mods with a #6 plate? We strongly recommend intake, exhaust, and an EGT gauge. For best drivability, pair with 3K/4K governor springs and an AFC spring kit.
Is a #6 plate smoky? It can be if airflow is stock and AFC is over-loosened. Proper AFC tuning and airflow upgrades minimize smoke.
Do I need to pull the injection pump? No. The plate installs with the AFC housing removed. Take care to keep the area clean and follow torque specs.
Will this hurt my transmission?Added torque can stress weak transmissions. If you tow or run larger tires, consider a transmission upgrade.
