The HAMILTON CAMS 07-S-003 103# VALVE SPRINGS are one of the most popular valvetrain upgrades available for 1998.5–2018 Cummins 24-valve engines. Designed for trucks operating under increased boost pressure, elevated drive pressure, aftermarket tuning, performance camshafts, or higher RPM levels, these springs provide the valve control necessary to prevent valve float and power-robbing reversion.

Factory 24-valve Cummins valve springs typically provide only 78–82 lbs of seat pressure. Once boost pressures exceed approximately 35 PSI or engine speeds climb beyond 3,800 RPM, the factory springs can struggle to maintain proper valve control. Hamilton's 103 lb spring package significantly improves valvetrain stability while maintaining camshaft longevity through a carefully engineered 180 lb nose pressure design. 

Rated for operation up to approximately 4,500 RPM, the 07-S-003 springs are ideal for towing builds, street performance trucks, larger single turbochargers, compound turbo systems, and aftermarket camshaft applications. Hamilton specifically recommends their springs and tappets together to maximize camshaft durability and warranty protection.

Will these work with a stock camshaft?

Yes. Hamilton 103# springs are fully compatible with stock camshafts and are commonly installed on performance-tuned trucks before a camshaft upgrade.

Do these springs include retainers?

No. Tool-steel retainers are sold separately under Hamilton part number 07-S-004.

What problem do upgraded valve springs solve?
