Product Description
The CUMMINS 3969698 OEM P7100 INJECTION PUMP–TO–TIMING CASE O-RING SEAL is the factory-correct sealing ring used between the P7100 pump housing and timing case on 1994–1998 5.9L 12-valve Cummins engines. If your P-pump is leaking oil or fuel around the mounting flange, this is the precise OEM O-ring Cummins engineered for a long-term, leak-free seal.
This seal should always be replaced any time the P7100 pump is removed for timing adjustments, fueling mods, replacement, leak repair, or governor spring installation. Using genuine Cummins sealing components ensures proper fitment, oil resistance, and long-term reliability—especially important on 12-valve engines subjected to higher RPM or fueling upgrades.

FAQ
IS CUMMINS 3969698 THE CORRECT SEAL FOR THE P7100 PUMP ON MY 12-VALVE?
Yes. Cummins 3969698 is the correct pump-to-timing case O-ring used on 1994–1998 5.9L 12-valve Cummins engines equipped with the Bosch P7100 injection pump. It is the OEM sealing ring for the pump mounting interface.
WHEN SHOULD I REPLACE THIS O-RING?
This seal should be replaced any time the P7100 pump is removed—such as during timing adjustments, pump upgrades, leak repair, governor spring installs, or general maintenance. Reusing old seals often results in leaks.
IS THIS A GENUINE CUMMINS PART?
Yes. This is a 100% genuine Cummins OEM sealing ring, not an aftermarket reproduction. It meets factory specifications for material and fitment.
WHAT HAPPENS IF THIS SEAL FAILS?
A failed O-ring can cause engine oil leaks, fuel seepage, timing case contamination, and even drivability issues if the pump loses proper seating. Replacing the seal prevents these problems.
WHAT OTHER PARTS SHOULD I REPLACE WHILE SERVICING MY P7100?
It is common to service nearby seals and components such as front crank seals, expansion plugs, and dowel pins. CPP Diesel also carries related Cummins parts like: 3937111 front crank seal kit and 3804899 crankshaft seal .

P7100 pump
The seal is still leaking but I think it’s because I messed it up whenever I slid the p7100 pump back into the housing
