FAQ
Will 179180 bolt to a stock manifold?
No—this uses a T6 twin-scroll housing. You’ll need a T6 manifold and modified exhaust/downpipe for clearance. Stock manifolds for most Cummins / Powerstroke / Duramax will not fit without modification.
How much flow can I expect & when will it spool?
With an S480, expect ~110-125 lb/min in ideal condition. Spool will be delayed relative to smaller S300/S400 sizes, especially on stock displacement or fuel. Boost threshold will depend on exhaust, fueling, and ambient conditions.
What are the inlet/outlet sizes?
Compressor inlet: ~5.5" race-cover / hose; outlet depends on housing; turbine exducer ~81.47mm, OD ~87.37mm.—verify your pipe / flange sizing.
What bearing type & oiling do I need?
Journal bearings. Ensure a clean oil feed, -10AN or -12AN return, proper drain routing. No restrictor unless your fuel & oil pressure demands require tuning.
Is this legal in California or emissions-controlled states?
This is a high-flow universal/off-road turbo. It is not CARB legal / EPA approved for street / emissions in many states. Check local regulations.
