Product Description
The ARP 247-5401 Main Stud Kit is designed for late 1997-2006 Dodge Ram 5.9L Cummins engines without the factory block stiffener or girdle. This kit replaces factory main bolts with high-strength ARP studs to improve bottom-end clamping, reduce main cap movement, and help protect the block threads in performance, towing, and high-load diesel applications.
Manufactured from 8740 chromoly steel and heat-treated to a 190,000 PSI tensile strength rating, ARP 247-5401 is a strong upgrade for 2-bolt main Cummins builds that are not using the factory block stiffener. ARP confirms this kit is for Dodge 5.9L 24V Cummins late 1997-2006 2-bolt main applications. Summit Racing also notes that this kit does not work with a main stud girdle.

WHY UPGRADE TO ARP MAIN STUDS?
Cummins engines used for heavy towing, added fueling, upgraded turbochargers, higher RPM, or competition can place additional load on the lower end of the engine. ARP main studs help provide more consistent clamping force than factory main bolts, supporting main cap stability and improved durability in demanding diesel builds.
