This means less time spent at the fuel pump and more hours on the road, maximizing productivity and income. The seamless installation process utilizes the factory sending unit for compatibility and accuracy, ensuring that your fuel gauge displays precise readings, maintaining functionality alongside increased capacity.
Designed for ease of use, the installation mounts easily at the back of the frame behind the rear axle, minimizing hassle during the upgrade. Most necessary installation parts are OEM components already present on your truck, making the transition straightforward. Additionally, to calibrate the fuel gauge accurately, S&B provides guidance on using the FORScan software. This allows you to effortlessly input the new tank size and enjoy a seamless integration into your vehicle's existing systems.

Get More Done By Spending Less Time Getting Fuel
Save time and get more done with a longer fuel range. The normal stock tank for F350 Cab and Chassis is 26 gallons at an average of 12mpg, meaning you only have a 312 mile distance to empty (DTE). With this new tank at 40 gallons, that DTE expands to 480 miles. Which means less time at the gas station, and more time on the road earning an income. Over the years, Ford has experienced many issues with delamination of the lining of the factory fuel tanks that usually result in a complete overhaul of the entire fuel system and the owner having to pay the entire cost. Save yourself some time and grab this brand new, easily installed tank from S&B Tanks to prevent the inevitable headache of dealing with the stock tank. This tank is made from the best quality high-density cross link polyethylene which has several advantages over the metal tanks that you see in the marketplace. Polyethylene will last longer, won't corrode or rust, and this material is more resilient and has a lot less of the issues that plague metal tanks. This is also the same material that is used as insulation for high voltage electrical cables.
Ease Of Installation
This unit is installed at the very back of the frame behind the rear axle. It utilizes the same factory sending unit that the stock tank uses for ease. Even with having more capacity, your fuel gauge on the dashboard will still offer an accurate reading despite this being an aftermarket part. The majority of the parts that are required for installation are the normal OEM parts that are currently sitting on your truck.
Fitment:
- 2011-2016 F350, F450, F550 6.7L Cab and Chassis
Note on Distance 'Til Empty (DTE): When you upgrade to a larger fuel tank like S&B's, you will need to calibrate your fuel gauge properly to get an accurate read on DTE (distance till empty). This can be done using a program called FORScan and will require a compatible OBDII adapter that can read and send data via cable or Bluetooth back to your FORScan software, which can be downloaded via PC, laptop, or smart phone. Once you're set up, you can access the vehicle's computer system through the FORScan software and update your tank size to the new one installed. FORScan does offer a free trial version of the software, although you can pay the subscription fee for full access to the software.
