Description

1989-2002 Cummins 12V/24V Hx Series Rod Bearings (Std + .001) Coated. These H and HX Clevite bearings were developed primarily for use in NASCAR type racing but are suitable for all types of competition engines.

H series bearings have a medium level of eccentricity, high crush and rod bearings have a hardened steel back and thin overlay. These bearings also have enlarged chamfers for greater crankshaft fillet clearance and are made without flash plating for better seating.

Details:

  • 1989-2002 Cummins 12V/24V Hx Series Rod Bearings (Std + .001) Coated
  • The HX series bearings have and .001 inch extra clearance

The biggest benefit of coated bearings is preventing damage during cold starts and events where oil starvation is evident. Starting your car is almost the worst thing you can do as the oil has had time to drain out of the engine back into the pan.

The oil is cold and thicker and takes time to get circulated throughout the engine, including to the crank bearings. The added dry film lubricant coating acts as a barrier between the bearing surface and the crank journal.

Other benefits are less friction and longer bearing and crank journal life. The special coating also has moly and other ingredients that retain oil rather than repel it.

This coating process was developed for and is used in race engines, and applied to street and daily-use cars to help yield more durable engines.

The INDUSTRIAL INJECTION PDM-CB-1413HXC DODGE HX SERIES ROD BEARINGS are expertly designed to enhance the performance of 1989-2002 Cummins 12V/24V engines. These coated rod bearings, available in standard and .001 inch additional clearance sizes, are engineered for high-performance applications, particularly in competitive racing environments.

These H and HX Clevite bearings stand out with their medium eccentricity and high crush capabilities, ensuring optimal contact with crankshaft journals. The hardened steel back paired with a thin overlay delivers exceptional durability, while enlarged chamfers allow for improved clearance at the crankshaft fillet. The absence of flash plating in their construction ensures superior seating, making them ideal for both racing and everyday use.

One of the standout features of these coated bearings is their ability to mitigate damage during cold starts—a common risk when oil circulation is still beginning. The specially formulated dry film lubricant coating acts as a protective barrier, significantly reducing friction as the oil warms up and begins to flow freely. This coating, rich with molybdenum and other oil-retaining agents, not only extends the life of both bearings and crank journals but also enhances overall engine efficiency.

Developed initially for high-stakes race engines, these bearings have been refined for everyday applications, promising engine durability that stands up to rigorous demands. Each complete set ensures a perfect fit and optimal performance, making it an essential upgrade for any Cummins owner looking to push their engine to new heights.

Designed for those who understand the value of performance, the INDUSTRIAL INJECTION DODGE HX SERIES ROD BEARINGS are the ultimate blend of engineering excellence and practical application, ensuring reliability and performance in every rev.
