Product Description
Build a harder-charging 24-valve Cummins. INDUSTRIAL INJECTION PDM-3354FCC.040 race pistons are purpose-built for 1998.5–2002 5.9L ISB (24V) engines. Each .040" over piston features thermal barrier crown coating and a low-friction ceramic skirt coating to survive heat and cylinder pressure. Race pistons are fly-cut (.100" valve reliefs) and chamfered for durability, with a complete drop-in kit for a clean, professional build.
Fitment

Helpful Notes
- Have your machine shop verify piston-to-wall clearance and set ring end gaps for your power level and fuel/air combo.
- Confirm piston-to-valve clearance when using high-lift cams; these race pistons include .100" fly-cuts.
FAQ
Are these truly “drop-in” pistons? They’re supplied with rings, pins, and clips, but a .040" overbore and precise measurements are required for correct clearances and ring gaps.
What’s the difference between Performance (CC) and Race (FCC)?Race (FCC) pistons include fly-cut valve reliefs (.100") in addition to the coatings and chamfered tops found on Performance pistons—ideal for high-lift cams and aggressive builds.
Do the coatings change my clearances? The ceramic skirt coating cures to ~.001" film thickness and is designed not to require additional clearance beyond proper machine specs.
Which head studs should I choose?ARP 247-4202 suits most street/strip builds; step up to ARP 247-4204 625+ for very high boost and competition use.
