Frequently Asked Questions
Is this turbo a direct bolt-on for my 2004.5–2007 5.9L?Yes. It’s designed as a bolt-on upgrade for HE351-equipped 5.9L trucks. Always replace gaskets and inspect oil feed/return lines during installation.
What fueling and airflow mods pair best with the Super PhatShaft 64?Common combos include an upgraded intake elbow, 4 in. or 5 in. exhaust, and moderate injector/tune packages. See the recommended parts above for CPP in-stock options.
How does it tow compared to stock?Expect stronger mid-range and lower EGT under load when paired with proper fueling and tuning, making it a popular “tow + street” choice.
Do I need custom tuning? While it can run on mild setups, optimized tuning is recommended to fully realize power and manage EGT/drive pressure safely.
What about 2007.5–2009 6.7L trucks? This part is for 5.9L applications only. 2007.5+ 6.7L trucks require different turbo solutions.
