FAQ
What power range is an S471 1.00 A/R good for?On a healthy 6.7L with appropriate fuel and tuning, an S471 is a strong single in the 650–800+ HP range depending on elevation, cam, intercooling, and fuel system. Street manners stay reasonable with the 1.00 A/R housing.
Will I lose the factory exhaust brake?Yes. This fixed-geometry setup removes the OEM VGT brake. Many owners add an aftermarket exhaust brake or size for a slightly smaller turbine A/R to aid engine-braking feel.
Do I need to modify A/C or coolant lines?Clearance varies by truck and component stack. We recommend an A/C line relocation kit and VGT coolant delete plugs for a clean install (see Recommended Parts above).
What supporting mods do you recommend?Quality lift pump, healthy CP3 and injectors, 4" or 5" exhaust, free-flowing intake, and a clutch or transmission build rated for your target torque.
