FAQ
What does this bronze cam retainer do?It helps control camshaft endplay and keeps the cam located, improving timing stability during hard use compared to worn factory plates.
Will it fit my 5.9L Cummins?
Yes—fits 1989–2007 5.9L Cummins (12V & 24V). Verify by VIN/engine year and measure endplay after install.
Bronze vs. steel—what’s the difference?
Bronze offers excellent bearing properties and wear resistance; steel (see 07-C-002) is another durable option. Choose based on preference and build goals.
Do I need other parts when installing?
We recommend inspecting/replacing the cam key and front cam bushing, and adding the gear retainer on performance builds.
