Break-In Notes
Prime the oiling system before first start, verify oil pressure, run 1200–1500 rpm for ~5 minutes, then adjust valves after any head re-torque (lash changes with re-torque). Follow best-practice lube and oil-change procedures after break-in.
FAQ
Is this truly drop-in?Yes—if piston protrusion is ≤ 0.018" and valve face depth is ≥ 0.038" with a standard gasket. Otherwise, use an oversize gasket or cut small valve reliefs.
What gains should I expect?Faster spool, stronger low-end torque, and ~200–300°F EGT reduction on typical builds when paired with proper tuning and airflow.
Which springs/retainers do I need? This combo includes 103# springs. For high rpm or heavy boost, consider Hamilton tool-steel retainers and, if exceeding ~4500 rpm regularly, 110# springs with steel cam/tappets.
Do I need new tappets? We strongly recommend new tappets on any cam install. Choose Hamilton 1.45" (07-T-001) or DLC billet (07-T-002) above for durability.
