The BD DIESEL 1064234BF Torquemaster 48RE Transmission is a heavy-duty, performance-built transmission engineered for 2005–2007 Dodge Ram 2500/3500 4WD trucks equipped with the 5.9L Cummins and the 48RE automatic transmission with TVV stepper motor. The factory 48RE was built for stock power levels — and once towing, tuning, larger tires, or added horsepower enter the picture, the weak points show up fast. This Torquemaster package is designed to correct common failure areas and deliver stronger shifts, improved clutch holding power, and long-term durability under real work conditions.
This build includes billet “Big” fine spline input shaft upgrades to handle rapid throttle changes and high torque loads, plus a fully upgraded valve body with increased line pressure (targeting approximately 190–200 psi) for improved clutch apply and reduced slip. Every transmission includes a BD rigid aluminum heavy-duty pan with heat-dissipating fins, a magnetic drain plug, and added fluid capacity for cooler temps and better service life. The package also includes a BD auxiliary full-flow filter kit for additional protection and inspection capability.
