The BD DIESEL 1064164SS TowMaster 47RE Transmission and Converter Package is a dyno-tested, matched transmission and torque converter solution engineered for 1996–1998 Dodge Ram 2500/3500 trucks with the 5.9L Cummins 12-valve and 4WD. Built to handle towing and heavy-duty street use, this package addresses common 47RE weak points with upgraded clutch capacity, higher line pressure, improved lubrication, and a premium torque converter designed for better low-rpm response and lock-up durability.
Every TowMaster transmission includes BD’s heavy duty pan for added fluid capacity and heat control, upgraded governor components, improved thrust bearing design, and an auxiliary full-flow filter kit for extra protection. The included triple disc torque converter is designed for street and towing applications with improved lock-up clutch material, tighter tolerances, and enhanced efficiency to reduce heat and improve drivability.
