The BD DIESEL 1041209 Diamond Bite Shim Kit is engineered to increase friction and eliminate unwanted flexplate slip in high-torque Dodge Cummins applications. Flexplates can experience movement even with correctly torqued bolts under extreme load — this can lead to loosened hardware and catastrophic transmission and crankshaft damage.
The Diamond Bite Shims feature an embedded electroless nickel coating that creates a micro-bite between the flexplate surfaces to significantly increase friction. This allows your flexplate to handle higher torque loads without slipping, making this kit a recommended add-on for high-output and heavy-duty Cummins 5.9L and 6.7L diesel trucks equipped with 47RH, 47RE, 48RE, or 68RFE transmissions.
