The BD DIESEL 1040182 Killer Dowel Pin (KDP) Kit is a must-have preventative upgrade for 1994–1998 Dodge Ram 2500/3500 trucks equipped with the legendary 5.9L Cummins 12-valve. The factory timing case alignment dowel pin—commonly known as the “Killer Dowel Pin”—can vibrate loose over time. If it backs out and drops into the timing gears, it can cause catastrophic internal engine damage.
This kit provides everything needed to permanently secure the dowel pin by installing a retainer tab, preventing the pin from walking out of its bore. It’s an essential “do it once, do it right” repair any time the front cover is removed—or anytime you want peace of mind on a high-mileage 12-valve Cummins.
