UPGRADE YOUR BOTTOM END CLAMP LOAD. ARP’s 247-5403 Main Stud Kit is engineered for Cummins builds that keep the factory block stiffener/girdle in place. Manufactured from premium 8740 chrome-moly and heat-treated to deliver ~200,000 psi tensile strength, these studs provide superior thread engagement and repeatable torque for boosted, tuned, and high-mile applications. Includes studs, 12-point nuts, and hardened washers.
Precision-rolled threads and ARP’s recommended torque procedure (with ARP Ultra-Torque) help minimize cap walk and main bearing distortion for better durability and oil film control at load. Socket sizes: 16mm 12-point & 12mm 12-point (with 5mm Allen where applicable). For maximum accuracy, assemble with ARP Ultra-Torque 100-9909.

DO I NEED THE FACTORY BLOCK STIFFENER FOR THIS KIT?
Yes—247-5403 is specifically for engines that retain the OE stiffener/girdle. If you do not have the stiffener, use ARP 247-5401.
WHAT TORQUE LUBE SHOULD I USE?
ARP requires its Ultra-Torque assembly lubricant for accurate preload. See 100-9909 or 100-9910.
CAN THESE BE RE-USED?
Studs can typically be re-used if undamaged and within spec; always inspect threads and follow ARP instructions for cleaning and re-torque.
